City of Salina Cancellations & Closures
The City of Salina has canceled or postponed meetings, programming and events to align with the following:
- The President’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America: 15 Days to Slow the Spread, which began on March 16 and involves avoiding gatherings of 10 or more people for a 15 day period.
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidance for the next eight weeks, which recommends that organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States.
- Governor Kelly’s Executive Order NO. 20-04 effective through May 1 on social distancing to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in Kansas.
- Governor Kelly's Executive Order NO. 20-16 establishing a "stay home" order effective through April 19.
While this order is in effect, it supersedes all local "stay home" or similar orders prohibiting citizens from leaving their homes in order to slow the spread of COVID-19, and no such order shall continue in force or effect. Any local "stay home" or similar orders currently in effect that expire after the date this order expires or is rescinded may resume in force and effect after this order expires or is rescinded. While this order is in effect no local jurisdiction shall issue or enforce any more of less restrictive "stay home" or similar orders.
