The City contractors will continue the annual Asphalt Mill and Inlay project on various streets in the City of Salina.

The schedule for April 11 – 15, weather permitting, is as follows:

Monday, April 11
Armory Road – Broadway Boulevard to the West
North Street – Barney Street to Broadway Boulevard
Iron Avenue – Delaware Avenue to Marymount Road

Tuesday, April 12
Fifth Street – Harsh Avenue to Euclid Avenue
Iron Avenue – Delaware Avenue to Marymount Road

Wednesday, April 13 to Friday, April 15
Iron Avenue – Delaware Avenue to Marymount Road

While the work is in progress, the individual roads other than Iron Avenue will be closed to through traffic. Iron Avenue will be open to through traffic with traffic cones to guide the traveling public. The contractor will begin setting traffic control at 7 am. Residences and businesses will be notified prior to changes in access to properties. On-street parking in work zones will be prohibited. Any vehicles, or equipment, left on the street on the day paving is scheduled may be towed at the owners expense.

This project is a major component of the 2016 Street Maintenance Program. The project consists of milling the existing asphalt street surface 2” deep and then resurfacing it with new asphalt to rehabilitate and preserve the pavement section. Permanent pavement markings will be placed shortly after resurfacing is complete.
