Salina City Manager Jason Gage has appointed Scott Gardner as Process Improvement Director. Following a nationwide search that generated 29 candidates, Gardner, a local resident, was selected for the role.
Mr. Gardner comes to the City with extensive process improvement/Lean experience in manufacturing industries and has supported organizations in a wide variety of sectors as a Lean trainer and consultant. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa and obtained his master's degree in business administration at Kansas Wesleyan University. He has various Lean/Six Sigma certifications including Master Black Belt, Black Belt and Innovation Engineering Black Belt.
City Manager Gage states, "Scott has the technical knowledge and skills to build on this relatively new program. His insight and experience will enable us to continue to reach the next level of operational efficiency."
Mr. Gardner will begin his new role in early July.
