Santa Fe Ave/Elm Street Intersection
On Wednesday, January 2, 2019, Smoky Hill Construction will begin working at the northeast corner of Santa Fe and Elm replacing curb and pavement and completing water line work. Eastbound traffic on Elm will still be open, but the westbound lane in front of Salina Supply will be closed. Westbound traffic will have to detour at 5th Street or sooner. There will still be access to the south side of Salina Supply's loading dock during this phase. North and southbound traffic will still be open with lanes shifting to the west.
Santa Fe Ave/Mulberry Street Intersection
On Monday, January 7, 2019, Smoky Hill Construction will begin work on the east side of the Santa Fe and Mulberry intersection replacing pavement and sidewalk. Traffic will not be able to go east and west through the intersection. Eastbound traffic will have to turn on Santa Fe and westbound traffic will have to turn on 5th Street. The alley to Taco Johns will remain open with access to 5th Street. North and southbound Santa Fe will remain open with lanes shifting to the west.
Both phases will take approximately three weeks to finish, weather dependent.
