 2013 Asphalt Mill & Inlay
Road Work Update
Location: North Street
(Santa Fe Avenue to Ninth Street)
(Santa Fe Avenue to Fifth Street)

Duration of Work: Three working days
(Monday - Wednesday)

On Monday, July 1, 2013, APAC-Kansas, Inc., Shears Division will begin setting up traffic control on North Street prior to beginning the work of milling off and replacing approximately 1 ½” of surface material of North Street between Santa Fe Avenue and Ninth Street and Santa Fe Avenue and Fifth Street.

Weather permitting, the work on North Street is expected to be completed by July 3, 2013. Permanent pavement markings will be placed shortly after project completion.

This project is a major maintenance component of the 2013 Street Repair Program for arterial streets. The project consists of approximately 1.2 miles of milling a minimum of 1.5 inches of the existing asphalt and then placing surface asphalt back in this area to rehabilitate and preserve the pavement section.

As with any street project, there will be some inconvenience to the public. These sections of North Street will be closed during this work and detour signage and flaggers should be expected. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained, however, motorists should be prepared for minor delays.
