5/14/2021 - National Public Works Week
In accordance with the traditions of the American Public Works Association (APWA), those who work in professions that provide and maintain public facilities and services will be honored this week, May 16-22, during National Public Works Week.

The theme for National Public Works Week 2021, is "Stronger Together". According to the APWA, the theme “challenges our members and their citizens to think about the role public works plays in creating a great place to live”. By working together, the impact citizens and public works professionals can have on their communities is magnified and results in the ability to accomplish goals once thought unattainable

Salina’s public works professionals include those who manage the City’s engineering projects and services, fleet management, flood control, household hazardous waste, sanitation refuse and recycling collection, municipal solid waste landfill, street maintenance and repair and traffic control.
