Holiday Fundraising Helps Spread Cheer
The holiday season is near and it’s once again time for the 22nd Annual Friends of the Smoky Hill Museum’s Poinsettia Sale. Starting at $14, these beautiful, greenhouse poinsettias are available only for a limited time and are guaranteed to brighten your holiday décor for home, office, civic-group and church use. Also back by popular demand are handmade, fresh greenery wreaths by Bel Tree Farm, starting at $20.
Score big holiday points by giving these vibrant, long-lasting poinsettias as a holiday, get-well, housewarming, or thank-you gift. The multi-stem 15 to 18-inch plants (Small) are $14 each and are perfect for desk or home-countertop use. The luxurious, 24-inch plants (Medium) are $29 and work well for home or business window displays or for guest-service or front-counter use. Both sizes are tall and full with bright, long-lasting blooms, and are available in red, pink, white or burgundy. Also available is the stunning 36-inch poinsettia (Large), available only in traditional Christmas red, for $40. This size makes is ideally suited for doorway, foyer, stage or sanctuary decor. The Museum’s fresh, greenery wreaths range in sizes from 22” to 32” across and are full and fragrant and are priced $20 to $35.
New this year, the Friends of the Smoky Hill Museum Gift Poinsettia program gives you an easy way to give one or two to a local loved one or to “sponsor” one for a resident at Sterling House of Salina and Fairdale.
To get a $2 discount per plant, simply order 30 or more poinsettias for combined home, office or civic use, delivered to a single location. Friends of the Smoky Hill Museum members also receive an additional $1 off per plant or wreath. Once Thanksgiving is over, just pick up your poinsettias and fresh wreaths at the Museum on Saturday, December 7 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., during the annual Holiday Open House. Or, ask for direct delivery of multiple plants to a single location of your choice for just $15 in the Salina area, on selected dates each week through Friday, December 20.
In addition to the convenience and affordability of the Museum’s Poinsettia Sale, be sure to browse the Museum Store in person or online for creative gift ideas. From gourmet Kansas food products to local artwork to stunning wheat weaving and local pottery, the Museum Store has an ideal, affordable gift for everyone on your holiday list. Staff is available to help you select gifts that mail easily or to help create a custom gift basket for family members, friends, or classmates far and near who may treasure a reminder of Salina or Kansas.
Ordering one or more Holiday Poinsettias helps provide the Museum’s educational programming and events for thousands of children and families. The Smoky Hill Museum engages 35,000 visitors of all ages each year in on-site, special-event, and online learning encounters.
The holiday season is fast approaching, so take a minute now to reserve your fresh poinsettias and wreaths. The last day to place a guaranteed order is Friday, November 15.
